Life as we know it has basically come to a screeching hault due to the CDC regulations. Here at Fox + Honey Co. we’re going a bit stir crazy planning out our schedules (well, lack there-of) and can I just say… planning during a pandemic is hard. However, just because we’re on lock down it doesn’t mean the wedding fun has to stop! Here are some tips that you can use when you get that wedding planning itch!
Since we’re all on lockdown and most businesses that are considered non-essential are being advised to close themselves to the public, it’s going to be hard to do a venue tour if you’re a late 2020 or early 2021 bride. No worries though, reach out to the venues on your planning list to see if they have a virtual tour option. Chances are, they will, especially with the increase of destination weddings!
Booking a photographer for your wedding is easier than ever, now. Most photographers have a website filled with their work so you don’t have to worry about meeting up with them So no more shy face to face meetings! (unless you’re like me and need an excuse to grab a coffee cocktail).Don’t forget to chat with them over the phone or even via skype/facetime to make sure you mesh with them!
Every bride’s favorite way to pass time, (and let’s be real, mine too) Pinterest! Now that your wedding is getting closer, take some time to really craft out your wedding decor. Now’s the perfect time to sit back and have a glass of wine while you get those details down.
Sending out RSVPS is so much easier, especially with sites like Zola. All you have to do is create your custom wedding website and you can send links to all of your friends and family to gather their info. Which is great because you’ll easily be able to get their addresses when those paper invites go out + when you send those thank you cards!
Grab your beloved and have a nice night-in with them. All of your dinners have probably been at home these past few weeks but consider having a date night in. Grab some s’mores order some margaritas from Taco Cabana, or an old fashion Netflix + Chill. Mae sure you share the love during your quarantine.
Many bakeries are still open for takeout and delivery. Call your favorite bakeries and ask them if they are able to do sample tastings. You can have them ship, deliver, or go in and pickup your dream cake flavors. If you can’t eat cake now, when can you?
Hang with your wedding party and maintain social distancing rules at the same time. Hop on any webcam sharing site like, Zoom and chat with your wedding party. Play some games (my personal favorite: Truth or drink) and ask the people who know you best to chime in on the wedding planning.
Whether your wedding’s been postponed, or your wedding planning has been turned upside down due to COVID19, I hope this helps you get in touch with your vendors. My heart goes out to the families of those affected by this pandemic. If you have the ability to do so please consider donating to one of these foundations.
